Special Event - Saturday, November 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Join us for an afternoon of Quick Gift Ideas! See samples of items that will knit, crochet or stitch up quickly and easily and best of all make great gifts for the holidays!!
Beginning Knitting – a focused introduction to the six foundational skills for knitting. Class is five hours with a one hour lunch break, and offered each month. Fee includes all materials. Payment for registration is required prior to the beginning of class.
Date: September 13 or October 4, November 22, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $45.00
Beginning Crochet – a focused introduction to the six foundational skills for crochet. Class is three hours and offered each month. Fee includes all materials. Payment for registration is required prior to the beginning of class.
Date: September 20 or October 18, November 29, 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $45.00
Mittens – Learn to knit mittens in the round using worsted weight yarns. This class will teach you how to measure to make mittens that fit and shape the thumb gusset. This is a great class to move you beyond scarves.
Date: September 27th, 10:30 – 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $55.00 (includes pattern)
Required: ability to knit, purl, ssk (slip, slip knit), “k2tog” (knit 2 together).
Baby Surprise Jacket – Learn to knit this fun Elizabeth Zimmerman pattern in any gauge of yarn with the appropriate needles. This jacket is knit all in one piece, in garter stitch, and then sewn together at the shoulders to form a jacket for a baby or toddler. Once you learn to knit these you will be doing them all the time!
Date: October 11th, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $25:00 (includes the pattern)
Required: ability to knit, ssk (slip, slip knit), M1 (make one increase) and use stitch markers
DPN Socks – Learn to knit socks using double pointed needles. Conquer your fear of using multiple needles or the “toothpicks” to create socks. You will learn to knit a basic sock using worsted weight yarns. Join the rest of us who are “addicted” to sock knitting! A great portable project.
Date: October 25th, 10:30 – 3:30 p.m. (to ensure we have adequate time in class, please plan on arriving early to choose your yarn and needles)
Cost: $55.00 (includes pattern)
Required: ability to knit, purl, ssk (slip, slip knit), “k2tog” (knit 2 together).
Christmas Mitten - Instead of a Christmas stocking, make a Christmas Mitten instead. In this class you will make a large-sized mitten to hang on the mantle. The mitten will be knitted in the round using worsted weight yarn. You will have a variety of patterns to choose from to create a center motif for your mitten.
Date: November 15th, 10:30 – 3:30 p.m. (to ensure we have adequate time in class, please plan on arriving early to choose your yarn and needles)
Cost: $25.00 (includes pattern)
Required: ability to knit, purl, ssk (slip, slip knit), “k2tog” (knit 2 together).
Sit and Stitch
How often do we take the opportunity to just sit and knit, crochet, or do whatever our needlework passion is for a couple of uninterrupted hours? There is NO charge and we invite you to enjoy a warm beverage while your relax and give in to your creativity.
Wednesday Mornings: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday Afternoons 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
and of course
Thursdays are always Knit Knites from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
